Environmental Educational Book Promotion Project:
THE WOODS OF WICOMICO
Author Nuala Galbari
Review: "Children will be captivated when they meet Timothy the tortoise, Octavious the osprey, Grahame the groundhog and their friends of various species, all dwelling in The Woods of Wicomico. Nuala Galbari has written, and Buttons Boggs has illustrated, a narrative that’s up to the minute in its environmental message, but timeless in its ability to bring animals to vital life as distinct individuals. Best of all, through its sparkling vocabulary and its original songs and lyrics, this book invites an engaged and creative response on the part of its young readers." ... Barbara J. King, Ph.D., author of Being with Animals

BEING WITH ANIMALS
Why We Are Obsessed With the Furry, Scaly, Feathered Creatures Who Populate Our World --- Barbara J. King, anthropologist
Review:
"Animals are an integral part of our lives and culture. We can find them in children's books as talking characters, in our living rooms snuggled up on the couch or on our dinner plates next to a heap of mashed potatoes. In "Being with Animals," Anthropologist Barbara J. King explains how this unique relationship came to be by tracing it back to our earliest human ancestors."

INAGUA
Gilbert Klingel (1908-1983), a self-made man of many talents, was a naturalist, explorer, award-winning author, inventor, avid sailor and boat builder. He wrote three books and numerous articles. Inagua (1940) and The Bay (1951) were based on his experiences in the West Indies and around the Chesapeake Bay. Boat building with Steel (1973) was a technical guide for constructing sailboats out of steel. He was a pioneer in underwater research. He invented and built his own diving equipment including a submersible for the National Geographic Society.
INAGUA
is a classic historical adventure that should be considered more valuable than its weight in gold. It's a must for any person concerned or interested in the marine environment, nature or an incredible adventure by two very unusual early pioneers / naturalist adventurers of the last century. Very highly recommended. A joy to read. This updated, 2010 edition, beside sporting a new cover design and website by Stu Coleman, enjoys a brilliant introduction written by Marcy Benouameur, the author's daughter." ...
